Why We Started
There is no shortage of coated floors on this island that failed inside two years. Most of them failed for the same two reasons: nobody ground the slab, and nobody checked it for moisture.
Both of those are shortcuts that save a few hours and cost the customer the whole floor. We built the business around not taking them.
It also means turning down the occasional job. If a slab has water coming through it, or has broken up and settled, a coating is not the answer, and we say so.
How We Work
Every quote starts with a site visit. We measure, read the moisture in the slab, check how hard the concrete is, and look at how the room gets used.
Then you get a written, itemised, fixed price. Preparation, materials and labour are listed. If something turns up once the grinder is running, we stop and talk to you before carrying on.
Diamond grinding on every floor. No acid etching. Primer matched to the moisture reading rather than whatever is in the van.
Our Commitment To Quality
We use commercial grade resins from established manufacturers, not consumer product. The systems we install are the same ones specified for warehouse and food processing floors.
Coats go down at the thickness the manufacturer specifies, with the recoat windows respected. Rushing a top coat onto a base that has not set is how a floor delaminates in year three.
The workmanship is warranted in writing. You get the paperwork, the product data sheets and the maintenance instructions when we finish.
Local Service Area
Our regular area covers Sydney, Sydney River, Glace Bay, North Sydney, Sydney Mines, New Waterford, Dominion and Louisbourg, including Whitney Pier, Membertou, Coxheath, Howie Centre and Mira Road.
Beyond that we take work out along Highway 105 toward Baddeck, down Highway 4 along the Bras d'Or, and across to Port Hawkesbury where the job justifies the travel.
If you are not sure we cover your road, call and ask. We would rather tell you on the phone than have you waiting on a quote that is not coming.
Straight Answers
We do not use pressure and we do not use expiring discounts. If a solid colour epoxy is the right call for your storage room, we will quote that instead of talking you into a flake system.
We answer the phone during working hours and we call back when we say we will. If a job is going to run late because of weather, or a slab that needed more repair than expected, you hear it from us first.
Most of our work comes from people who saw a floor we did for someone they know. That only keeps happening if the floors hold up.
